Bridgewater-Raritan High School closed out an unforgettable athletic year by celebrating three state championship teams during a ring ceremony held on Monday, August 10, in the school’s auditorium. The boys’ swim team, girls’ swim team, and ice hockey team—all of which captured state titles during the 2025–2026 school year—were honored for their historic achievements and the pride they brought to the district.
Boys’ Swim Team: A Perfect Season and a Fifth State Title
Led by Head Coach Evan Seavey and Assistant Coach Max Newill, the Bridgewater-Raritan boys’ swim team powered through a flawless 12–0 season. The Panthers clinched the state championship with a commanding 108–62 victory over Hillsborough High School, their Somerset County rival. This win marked the program’s fifth state championship and its first since 2018, reaffirming Bridgewater-Raritan’s dominance in the pool.
Girls’ Swim Team: Sixth State Championship Secured
The Bridgewater-Raritan girls’ swim team also delivered a standout season under Head Coach Chris Levine and Assistant Coach Laura Karns. The team finished with an impressive 12–1 record, sealing its sixth state title after defeating Cherry Hill East, 108–62, in the championship meet. The victory marked the program’s first state crown since 2019 and showcased the depth, discipline, and talent of the Panthers’ roster.
Ice Hockey: A Historic First Public State Championship
Bridgewater-Raritan’s ice hockey team made school history this year, capturing its first-ever Public state championship. The Panthers earned a 2–0 win over Ridgewood High School in the state final held on March 9 at the Prudential Center—the home ice of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. Guided by Head Coach Vincent Arnone and Assistant Coach Steve Diamond, the team finished its remarkable season with a 23–3–1 record, cementing its place among the top programs in New Jersey.
A Night of Pride and Panther Spirit
The ring ceremony brought together athletes, coaches, families, and school leaders to celebrate a year defined by excellence, teamwork, and community pride. With three state championships across two sports, Bridgewater-Raritan’s student-athletes have set a new standard for achievement—and given the district a season to remember.
