Hillsborough Township Second Annual Older Adult Resources Fair Happens September 24th

HILLSBOROUGH TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Hillsborough Township Social Services Department will host its Second Annual Older Adult Resource Fair on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsborough Township Municipal Complex, located at 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough, NJ.

The event is designed to connect local seniors and their families with essential tools, expert advice, and community support. Attendees will gain direct access to a wide array of service providers covering critical areas, including:

● Planning & Benefits: Legal, financial, and insurance planning, alongside information on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

● Health & Support Services: Home care providers, senior living and assisted living options, health and wellness programs, and local government resources, including Veterans Services. ● Active Living: Leisure, fitness, technology, and community recreation opportunities.

A key highlight of this year’s fair is a special presentation of the Five Wishes Workshop, hosted by one of the event’s partner organizations. This interactive session helps adults create a legally valid advance care directive by guiding seniors and caregivers through documenting their personal medical, emotional, and spiritual preferences before a health crisis occurs.

"Our goal is to ensure Hillsborough's older adults and their families have direct, easy access to the resources they need to thrive," said Mayor Catherine Payne. "Navigating senior care, legal planning, and health benefits can feel overwhelming. By bringing these experts and services together under one roof, we are empowering our residents to make informed decisions that promote independence, peace of mind, and a high quality of life."

The Resource Fair supports both older adults and the family members who assist them, encouraging proactive planning and fostering strong community connections for healthy, active aging.
