The Manville Recreation Department is looking for one or more Head Coaches for our 2023 Winter RIB Travel Basketball team. Currently we have a 3rd/4th Grade Girls' team without a coach. Without enough coaches, we will be unable to run a successful league for the children interested in playing basketball.
If you know of any parent, adult, or college student looking for a volunteer opportunity, please have them reach out.
The coach’s commitment to the 3rd/4th grade team is 1 - 2 practices a week (based on the coach's) and a game on weekends starting January 6th. Coaches need to complete the Rutgers SAFETY Course and as well as a background check.
Serving as a recreational coach is an incredibly rewarding experience. Recreation coaches play a crucial role in helping the development of children not only within the sport but also in life. As a coach, you will help children learn the value of teamwork, how to win graciously, how to handle setbacks, when to adjust strategy, and how to persevere. Best of all, coaches have a direct hand in the development of each player. As a parent-coach, you will forge memories with your child that will last a lifetime. For more information on how to volunteer, contact Kim at 908-725-9478 ext. 106 or visit https://www.manvillenj.org/663/Volunteer-Coaches
