On December 29th, 2022 at 10:58 p.m., officers were dispatched to Thompson Street near the Raritan Train Station for a report of an erratic driver. After receiving a description, they located the vehicle parked in the middle of the road on Thompson Street. While conducting their investigation, officers arrested Micaiah Tillman, 27, of South Plainfield, for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers also observed evidence of Shoplifting inside Tillman’s vehicle . 

Tillman was additionally charged with Possession of an Antishoplifting device. Aldousian Pacunayen, 26, of Raritan, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property. Both were released pending a court appearance. On December 31st, 2022 at 10:46 p.m., Raritan officers were dispatched to Second Street for a reported stabbing. After a thorough investigation, our officers determined that a stabbing had not occurred. Officers learned that a 23 year old woman at a large gathering, had punched a garage window and transported herself to the hospital. 

As officers were investigating the incident, they arrested Jacqueline Smith, 24, of Manville, for Disorderly Conduct. Smith was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest and released pending a court appearance. A Criminal Mischief charge is pending in the matter. 

On January 1st, 2023 at 9:27 p.m., an officer conducting a property check at the Raritan Train Station observed several broken windows at the Train Station. The incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. 

On January 1st, 2023, officers were dispatched to The Lena Apartment complex on River Park Drive for a theft report. A 47 year old resident at the complex reported that someone had stolen several tools from his unlocked tool box, which was kept in his parking space in the parking garage. 

The incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. 

On January 3rd, 2023, officers responded to two separate Crossfit locations in the borough for reported motor vehicle burglaries. In both incidents, a car window was smashed and a purse was stolen from the vehicle. To prevent these types of incidents, we recommend that you do not leave valuables in your vehicles. The incidents are being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division. NOTE: The charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
