BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Enjoy nature-themed artwork at the 2023 children’s art show “Nature Through a Child’s Eye.” The free exhibit will be hosted by the Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center (EEC) in Basking Ridge, located at 190 Lord Stirling Road, on Friday, Jan. 6 to Sunday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit will be closed on Jan. 16.

“Nature Through a Child’s Eye is one of my favorite exhibits at the EEC,” said EEC Environmental Science Manager Carrie Springer, CPRP. “The colors and creativity portrayed by each child are very inspiring.”

“The artists often bring their families to visit the exhibit so they can show off their masterpieces,” said Somerset County Park Commission Secretary-Director Geoffrey Soriano. “Visitors of all ages will enjoy the exhibit as well as all that the EEC offers.”

The 31st annual art show features pieces that were created by applying textures, shapes and colors to depict nature through the student’s eyes. The colorful exhibit features 380 pieces of artwork created by local students in kindergarten to grade six from the following schools:

  • Basking Ridge – St. James School
  • Bernardsville – Bedwell Elementary School
  • Bound Brook – Lafayette Elementary School and Lamonte Elementary School
