Three Early October Career Fairs Offer Varied Opportunities for Job Seekers Free and Open to All

The following three events are free and open to all job seekers.

Somerset County Government Career Day

A Somerset County Government Career Day event will be conducted from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Raritan Valley Community College Conference Center, rooms B and C, at the campus in Branchburg. Representatives from more than 20 Somerset County Government divisions will be on hand to talk about the many opportunities in county government. The event is open to RVCC students and alumni as well as residents of Hunterdon and Somerset counties along with neighboring communities. No registration is required.

Cannabis Job and Information Session

A Cannabis Job Fair and Information Session will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Raritan Valley Community College Conference Center in Branchburg. Representatives from Valley Wellness, Aunt Mary’s in Flemington, Canna Coverage, Dank Poet Dispensary, and other businesses will be on hand to talk with job seekers and conduct interviews as appropriate. Attendees will also receive medical information from Premier MD, and career information from the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. In addition, an attorney specializing in expungement will also be in attendance. All New Jersey residents are welcomed to attend this one-of-a-kind cannabis forum, whether to seek job opportunities in the emerging cannabis industry or to get information about the medicinal benefits of cannabis.

Disabilities Job Fair and Career Expo

A Disabilities Job Fair and Career Expo will be conducted from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Somerset County Wellness Center, 876 E. Main St., Bridgewater. This free event is designed to connect job seekers with agency career training and employment-readiness programs, and employers, who are highlighting dozens of open positions. Representatives from more than 30 local agencies and employers will be on hand. Employers include Saker ShopRite, SHI International, Dunkin Donuts, Hunterdon Medical Center, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, Bridgewater Marriott, FedEx, American Water and many others. The event is presented by the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey in partnership with the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disabilities Services and the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board Disabilities Committee.
