SOMERVILLE, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Somerville Chief of Police Dennis Manning announced the arrest of Jonathan I. Najarro, age 32, Teneyke Place, Rahway, New Jersey in relation to a theft by deception which occurred between July 2022 and October 2022 in Somerville. Prosecutor McDonald stated that on October 4, 2023, two victims reported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office that they provided funds totaling approximately $202,920 to Jonathan Najarro to purchase multiple luxury vehicles which were never received.
The theft occurred between July 2022 and October 2022 in Somerville. A detective from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Unit conducted interviews with both victims. An investigation was then conducted into Jonathan Najarro and his company, J and J Auto Sound and Security Corporation. As a result of this investigation, on Friday, December 15, 2023, Defendant Jonathan Najarro was arrested at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident and charged with 2nd degree Theft by Deception. Defendant Najarro was subsequently lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
