Raritan Borough Police Department - Arrests and Incidents

Chief Raymond Nolte announced the following arrests and incidents: After an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division, Louis Padilla, 45, of Edison, was charged with shoplifting from the Quick Chek on West Somerset Street. Raritan Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Quick Chek on West Somerset Street on January 9th, 2024 for a shoplifting. The investigation revealed eight cans of Red Bull valued at $22.00 and a Tasty Cake valued at $4.00 were taken. Padilla was issued a complaint summons with a pending court appearance. On February 27th, 2024, Kelly Josek, 38, of New York City, was charged with Theft by Deception following an incident at PC Richards on November 14th, 2023. 

The Criminal Investigation Division was alerted by NYPD Detectives that Josek has used the identity of another to make an Internet purchase at PC Richards in Raritan totaling $1,669.05. Josek was charged with Theft by Deception and issued a complaint summons. A court appearance is pending. On February 29th, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., Raritan Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Quick Chek on West Somerset Street for a trespassing complaint. On scene, officers learned that Jesse Panyko, 40, of Manville was acting disorderly in the business and had been given a prior warning that he had been trespassed. Panyko was issued a complaint summons for Trespassing and a court appearance is pending. 

On March 2nd, 2024, at 4:12 p.m., Raritan Patrol Officers were dispatched to Reimer Street for a motor vehicle accident. While investigating the accident, officers arrested for Jose Rueda-Toxqui, 34, of Somerville for Driving While Intoxicated. After officers transported Toxqui to headquarters, he threatened officers by telling them he would have “Cartel members kill them”. Toxqui was subsequently charged with Terroristic Threats and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing. Toxqui was additionally charged with Refusing to Submit a Breath Sample, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Careless Driving. On March 3rd, 2024, at 11:56 p.m., Nicholas Veglatte, 39, of Whitehouse Station, was arrested on a warrant following a motor vehicle stop on Route 202. Veglatte was wanted by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office for Terroristic Threats. Veglatte was lodged in the Somerset County Jail. Bridgewater Patch The BReeze Raritan Neighbors NJ.
