Death Investigation at Raritan Public Library of a Somerville Woman
Sgt. Everett Holt stated that on April 20 th at 9:45 a.m., Raritan Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Raritan Borough Public Library 54 East Somerset Street on a report of a female bleeding in the bathroom.
On scene, officers observed a 44 year old Somerville woman suffering from numerous self-inflicted wounds to her arms. Officers immediately started life-saving measures on the woman.
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital BLS and ALS units also responded to the scene to assist with providing life saving measures. Ultimately the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. A preliminary investigation revealed the woman’s death to be non-suspicious. The
Northern NJ Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the incident and they will perform an autopsy on a later date.
