SOMERVILLE – The Somerset County Board of County Commissioners will hold an in-person ceremony starting at 8:46 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
The ceremony will be held on the steps of the Somerset County Historic Courthouse, followed by the annual wreath presentation at the county’s Memorial Clock Tower, located at the corner of Main and Bridge streets. Elected officials will read the names of the 39 residents lost in the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
"We gather each year to remember and honor those we lost, their families and the many heroes who responded that day," said Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson.
Flags at county facilities will be flown at half-staff in accordance with the congressional mandate passed in December 2001.
