Bridgewater, NJ (November 27, 2024) – Volunteer teams from Johnson & Johnson Research and Development and Nissan of North America joined Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity to help a senior homeowner restore the exterior of her Bridgewater home. Facing significant health challenges, the homeowner was at risk of losing her homeowner’s insurance due to the desperate need for paint and repairs.
“This project made such a huge difference,” says Construction Manager Steve Bond-Nelson. “It’s about providing peace of mind and a sense of community as well as making sure the home will stand the test of time. This was a huge improvement to the home and to the neighborhood.”
Raritan Valley Habitat Executive Director Jessica Abbott says, “We’re deeply thankful to Johnson & Johnson Research and Development and Nissan of North America for their help. This homeowner is so grateful to have restored dignity and security.”
With the help of volunteers and generous supporters, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity transforms lives one home at a time. Raritan Valley Habitat’s Home Safety and Repair program includes Brush with Kindness (small exterior clean-up and maintenance), Small Repairs (like installing sheetrock, flooring, cabinets, or windowpanes), and Critical Home Repairs (larger repairs like roof or furnace replacement). Homeowners in need of repairs should contact Kat Wilson at 908-704-0016, ext. 105, or kwilson@rvhabitat.org.
