RVCC Planetarium - News Update on the Planets Going into 2025

Image

So many things are wrong with this! The planets are always lined up. They move on or near the ecliptic. Only six planets are in the evening sky, and two of them, Uranus and Neptune, need a telescope for you to see them. Mercury is in the morning sky, before sunrise.

Earth is never in the sky. There's also nothing special about this date. All these planets are in the sky now, so go look for them! Venus, in the SW, is super easy to spot. Jupiter in the NE is also quite bright.

Right now, Saturn is in the South after sunset, but not nearly as bright as its friends. Mars looks amazingly red.

Come learn more about the planets, stars, and constellations at the RVCC Planetarium!
