The U.S. Postal Service unveiled a new series of 10 collectible Barbie stamps at the National Barbie Doll Collectors Convention in Austin, Texas. The release celebrates Barbie’s cultural impact, her evolution over nearly seven decades, and her enduring popularity among fans of all ages.
Lisa Bobb‑Semple, director of stamp services for USPS, noted that the original Barbie stamp remains one of the Postal Service’s most beloved issues. The new collection expands on that legacy by highlighting modern Barbie careers, reflecting the wide range of roles the iconic doll has represented over time.
Introduced by Mattel in 1959 as “The Original Teenage Fashion Model,” Barbie quickly grew beyond fashion to embody ambition, imagination, and possibility. Today, Barbie’s résumé includes more than 250 careers, symbolizing a progressive vision of womanhood and inspiring generations of children to imagine broader futures.
The stamp series honors Barbie not just as a toy, but as a cultural figure whose evolution mirrors changing ideas about women’s roles and aspirations.
The Barbie stamps are issued as Forever stamps and will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price. News of the Barbie stamps is being shared with the hashtag #BarbieStamps.
