BRIDGEWATER – Nine members of the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS), chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently competed in multiple events during the FBLA National Leadership Conference held from June 29th to July 2nd in San Antonio, Texas.
Nearly 16,000 students from more than 2,100 middle schools and high schools from throughout the United States and Canada competed in 108 business-related events. Students also had the opportunity to engage in over 200 learning workshops and meet with employers and representatives from colleges and universities.
Siyaa Choudhary of Somerset earned 3rd place in the Healthcare Administration competition. Ms. Choudhary outperformed a strong field in a contest that tests competitors on their knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and administrative functions within a healthcare setting
SCVTHS’s other top ten finisher was Jacob Berman of Bridgewater, who placed 8th in the Human Resource Management competition. This contest focuses on HR skills, including staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management.
“This year’s National Leadership Conference showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our student members,” said FBLA President & CEO Jennifer Woods. “From analytical thinking to dynamic communication, they demonstrated the skills that will shape tomorrow’s workforce. These students leave San Antonio not only with well-earned recognition, but also with new connections, confidence, and a clearer path toward their future careers.”
