Lahaska, PA — Autumn is upon us, and at Peddler’s Village, that means more than 150 locally crafted scarecrows will take their place along its charming brick pathways. The 47th annual Scarecrows in the Village display returns September 7 through October 26, transforming the 42-acre destination with imaginative creations designed by area residents, organizations, and Village shops.

Free and open to the public, Scarecrows in the Village has become one of Peddler's signature fall traditions, drawing creative entries and visitors from throughout the region. Guests can stroll the Village to discover the scarecrows and vote for their favorites on the Peddler’s Village mobile app through October 14. Prizes are awarded to the winning creators in each category.

The celebration continues Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, with the annual Scarecrow Festival. The weekend will feature fall activities, outdoor food and drinks, and the return of popular scarecrow-making workshops, where families and groups can build a life-size scarecrow of their own to take home. Workshops include a designated space, materials, and step-by-step instructions. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, as walk-in opportunities will be limited.

Scarecrow season also offers plenty of reasons for a day trip. Guests can explore more than 60 specialty shops and boutiques, enjoy a variety of dining options, visit Giggleberry Fair, the indoor family entertainment center, and wander through seasonal gardens as the Village transitions into fall. Those looking for the full experience can spend a night at the Golden Plough Inn, a 67-room inn offering the convenience and charm of an overnight stay in the heart of Peddler’s Village.
