New Jersey residents will be able to cast their vote soon for the General Election and citizens can sign up to be a poll worker

TRENTON, NJ, September 22, 2026 – New Jersey residents may sign up to serve as poll workers for the Tuesday, November 3 General Election, earning money while supporting their communities and helping make Election Day possible.

The New Jersey Division of Elections works with counties across the state to help residents serve as poll workers, with the opportunity to earn $300 on Tuesday, November 3 (Election Day) and $21.43 per hour for serving on Early Voting days (October 24-November 1).

“Every year, New Jersey’s elections rely upon thousands of citizens who serve our communities as poll workers. From the start of early voting on October 24th through Election Day on November 3rd, New Jersey poll workers will be essential in helping millions of New Jersey voters participate in the upcoming election,” said Donna Barber, Director of the Division of Elections. “Counties throughout the state are actively recruiting poll workers. Serving as a poll worker is an opportunity to earn money, learn about democracy, and engage with your local community.”

Residents are encouraged to apply through Pollworker.NJ.Gov.

New Jersey Poll Workers must meet the following qualifications:

• A United States citizen and a resident of New Jersey
• A registered voter in the county of residence
• At least 16 years of age
  • Those under 18 years of age are not required to be registered to vote in order to serve as poll workers.
• Not a candidate for elected office in the current election
