A serious motor vehicle crash on Route 78 this week underscored the skill, speed, and coordination of our region’s emergency responders. Whitehouse Rescue Squad was dispatched for a report of an overturned vehicle with two occupants trapped inside — the kind of call where every second matters.
Heavy Rescue 22‑5 and Rescue BLS 22‑55 arrived first, immediately stabilizing the overturned vehicle and beginning extrication efforts. Their quick actions set the tone for a smooth, disciplined response. Moments later, Heavy Rescue 36‑5 from South Branch Emergency Services joined the operation, adding personnel and equipment to support the rescue.
Working side by side, crews executed a careful, methodical extrication. Thanks to their training and teamwork, both occupants were freed from the vehicle and transported in stable condition — a reassuring outcome given the severity of the crash.
