At their recent meeting, the Rotary Club of Hillsborough welcomed Grace Bridgeman of Girl Scout Troop 63317, who presented her impressive Silver Award project: a life‑saving Stop the Bleed program.
Grace, an 8th grader at Hillsborough Middle School, partnered with the Hillsborough Township Fire District to train 20 residents from Hillsborough and nearby communities in how to control life‑threatening bleeding. The Rotary Club proudly helped fund her project, recognizing the impact of empowering everyday residents with emergency skills.
Uncontrolled bleeding is the leading cause of preventable death after an injury, and a person can die in as little as five minutes — often before first responders arrive. Calling 911 is essential, but trained bystanders can make the difference between life and death.
Congratulations to Grace for her leadership, her commitment to community safety, and for setting an example of what youth service can achieve.
