PEAPACK, NJ – A new chapter is beginning for one of Somerset County's most recognizable corporate properties. On Wednesday, November 4, county officials, community leaders, and project representatives gathered for a ceremonial groundbreaking marking the start of CopperWood Senior Living at the former Pfizer/Beneficial Finance campus in Peapack.

Backed by a $200 million investment, the project will transform the long-vacant corporate campus into a luxury senior living community designed to offer residents an upscale lifestyle while preserving the property's connection to the surrounding natural landscape.

CopperWood Senior Living will provide direct access to the Peapack Preserve and feature a variety of high-end amenities, including a performing arts center and an on-site restaurant that will be open to both residents and the public.

Somerset County Commissioner Sara Sooy participated in the ceremony and praised the redevelopment as a positive example of adaptive reuse.

"We are happy to have CopperWood Senior Living as the first company going into the old Pfizer campus," said Sooy. "It's a great example of smart repurposing. I'm honored to participate in this groundbreaking, and I look forward to helping ensure your business continues to be successful for years to come."

The redevelopment represents a significant investment in the borough and signals continued efforts to breathe new life into large corporate properties that have remained underutilized in recent years. Once completed, CopperWood is expected to bring new residents, visitors, and economic activity to the area while creating a destination-oriented community for active seniors.
