Hillsborough, NJ August 16, 2022 - - Girls on the Run Central NJ (GOTRCNJ) has been selected as the recipient for the 2022 Northeast Region’s Alpha Delta Kappa’s Altruistic Project during the organization’s Conference in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Over $5400 was raised during the conference, along with a sizeable donation of curriculum supplies for the Fall GOTR season. These generous contributions will provide girls in low-income communities with the opportunity to participate in Girls on the Run this September.

“Alpha Delta Kappa sisters are passionate about making a lasting impact on the lives of young women and selecting GOTRCNJ as our Northeast Region’s altruistic project offers a way for us to take action in one of our region’s community,” said Joyce McAloon IVPNER (Alpha Delta Kappa-NE Region).

An independent study found that the Girls on the Run program is highly effective at driving transformative and lasting change in the lives of third – eighth-grade girls. 97% of participants said they learned critical life skills such as how to resolve conflict, manage emotions, help others, and make intentional decisions at Girls on the Run that they are using at home, at school and with their friends.

“The overwhelming support of Alpha Delta Kappa sisters will help move our vision forward by providing opportunities for girls who would not otherwise be able to participate in our life-changing program,” said GOTRCNJ Executive Director, Donna York.
