An honor roll placement has been bestowed upon Bridgewater-Raritan High School. The high school achieved the College Board AP (Advance Placement) Honor Roll Award, according to Jason Mauriello, the school district’s Director of 21st Century Learning and Data Analysis.

Mr. Mauriello also reported that ‘’37 percent of eligible schools in New Jersey earned this award based on last year's AP data. This is awarded to schools that meet each of the following criteria anchored in research-based relationships between AP and college outcomes.’’

Here are the criteria:

  • College Culture: 40% or more of the graduating cohort took at least 1 AP Exam during high
  • school.
  • College Credit: 25% or more of the graduating cohort scored a 3 or higher on at least 1 AP
  • Exam during high school.
  • College Optimization: 2% or more of the graduating cohort took 5 or more AP Exams during
  • high school. At least 1 of those exams was taken in 9th or 10th grade, so that students are
  • spreading their AP experience across grades rather than feeling disproportionate pressure in
  • any single year.

NJ AP School Honor Roll Recognition Bridgewater-Raritan, said Mr. Mauriello, was recognized at the silver level, and did not earn the AP Access Award, which is when the distribution of AP test takers matches the population demographics of the school.

‘’Overall this is great news that we should all be proud of, but there is still some work to be done,’’ Mr. Mauriello said.
