Raritan Borough Police News: Motor Vehicle Burglary Investigation - Yields Charges

The Raritan Borough Police Department announced the issuance of an arrest warrant for Nicholas Florez-Sanchez, 27, of Elizabeth, NJ. Sgt. Everett Holt stated Sanchez has been charged with Burglary, Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools and Criminal Mischief as a result of a motor vehicle burglary that occurred on May 25th, 2023 at Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

The victim reported that a window on her Kia Sportage had been smashed and she was missing $700.00 in cash and property.

Extensive investigative work by the Criminal Investigation Division revealed that the victim had been followed to Janssen Pharmaceuticals after conducting a monetary transaction at a bank in Somerville. After the victim returned to her office, her vehicle was burglarized a short time later.

Through various investigative means to include the reviewing of surveillance footage and cell phone records, Sanchez was developed as a suspect. Sanchez was being investigated by the Piscataway Police Department and South Plainfield Police Department for similar incidents and they assisted in his identification. We would like to thank both agencies for their assistance in the investigation.

We would like to remind our citizens and visitors that it is imperative that they remove all valuable belongings from their vehicle to reduce the chance of becoming a burglary victim.
