About Leonard J. Buck Garden

Mr. Leonard J. Buck developed the garden as part of his estate in the 1930s, and it was later donated in 1976 to the Somerset County Park Commission by Mrs. Helen J. Buck. The Garden is known for being one of the premier rock gardens in the eastern United States. Since its creation, the Garden has reached a breathtaking point of maturity with a series of alpine and woodland gardens resting in a 33-acre wooded stream valley.
