ICYMI Raritan Borough Police Arrests
Motor vehicle accident results in DWI arrest:On April 8th, 2024, at 9:06 p.m., Raritan Patrol Officers were dispatched to the Somerville Traffic Circle for a motor vehicle accident.
An investigation conducted by the officers revealed that Jamieson Simms, 40, of Flemington, was driving a 2016 Mazda 3 and had failed to stop for the stop sign on the Route 202 North ramp prior to entering the traffic circle.
The Mazda was struck by a tractor-trailer that was navigating the traffic circle. No injuries were sustained as a result of the accident and the traffic circle was closed for an extended period of time. Officers determined that Simms was intoxicated, and he was subsequently placed under arrest. Simms was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Simms was released pending a court appearance.
