Raritan Food Pantry Makes Announcment on Serving the Community
*ANNOUNCEMENT*
We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding the Raritan Food Pantry (RFP). RFP has been a labor of love for our entire staff which is 100% volunteer base (board included). After almost 4 years of proudly serving our community the need for our little pantry has grown exponentially. We’ve gone from hosting around ~100 family visits per month in the beginning to ~475 visits in recent months. We’ve become increasingly dependent upon the assistance of the community for donations, volunteers and general support. We’ve been able to continue operations due to your support and also the tremendous assistance of larger organizations such as Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) and The Food Bank Network of Somerset County (FBNoSC).The RFP Executive Board has come to the conclusion that in order to ensure the families we support continue to have access to all of the resources they need, we need more assistance than we have available to us. Fortunately, when we reached out to one of our main partners, The Food Bank Network of Somerset County they have agreed to assume operations of the food pantry as one of their satellites.
This transition of operations will take a lot of time behind the scenes. In the interim, many things will remain the same and we still depend on community support. We will start to announce little changes to begin aligning with the operations of FBNoSC.We know this change will bring positive opportunities and strengthen the support available to our community. Your commitment and generosity have made it possible for us to serve and support our many families in Raritan and surrounding towns. We could not have achieved this without your invaluable contributions.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this transition. Most important to remember, the Raritan Food Pantry will continue on, under the umbrella of FBNoSC, and for that we are truly grateful.
Sincerely, The Raritan Food Pantry Executive Board
Kellyann, Nina, Colleen, Sharon, and Cindy
