NJAC VIRTUAL WORKSHOP SERIES 2025 -“A County Overview of SNAP and Medcaid
This important and timely workshop will provide an overview of how New Jersey is one of only ten states nationwide where county governments have administered the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Medicaid for nearly a century.
This session will also address the proposed changes being considered in DC to reduce the federal administrative match for SNAP from 50%/50% to 75%/25% and how this conversion would leave county governments in the Garden State responsible for a projected $122.0 million increase along with how additional Medicaid work requirements and redeterminations could impact county staffing and resources.
