Students Excel at FBLA Conference

BRIDGEWATER – Members of the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS), chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently competed in multiple events during the New Jersey FBLA State Leadership Conference in Atlantic City.

Overall, 9 of the 22 SCVTHS competitors finished in the top ten for their contest:

• Mithun Chigurupati of Bridgewater - 1st place, Introduction to Information Technology

• Saanvi Trivedi of Hillsborough - 2nd place, Healthcare Administration

• Bhumija Grandhe of Bridgewater - 2nd place, Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure

• Jashith Gorrepati of Green Brook and Rohan Patel of Hillsborough - 3rd place, Business Plan

• Pari Malla of Branchburg and Vaibhav Vujjini of Hillsborough- Top ten, International Business

• Jashith Gorrepati of Green Brook, Lucas Larrosa of Martinsville, and Rohan Patel of Hillsborough - Top ten, Community Service Project

Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School student Saanvi Trivedi of Hillsborough receiving her 2nd place award for Healthcare Administration at the 2025 New Jersey FBLA State Leadership Conference in Atlantic City.

In addition, Ms. Malla was elected to the office of State Membership Vice President.

The top 4 students in each competition qualify for the FBLA Nationals, which will take place in Anaheim, California later this year. Business Entrepreneurship and Management instructor James Strickhart, who advises the FBLA chapter at SCVTHS, said “It's great to see the students being rewarded for all the hard work and dedication they put into their competitions. I am excited for them to showcase their talents on a national level.”

FBLA’s mission is to inspire and prepare students, through career and leadership experiences, to become community-minded business leaders. The New Jersey State Chapter has been in existence since 1961. Nationally, FBLA has over 200,000 high school members and over 5,000 chapters.
