Reciprocal Borrowing Expanded to Raritan Public Library, Enhancing County-Wide Access to Library Resources
June 2, 2025 – The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey (SCLSNJ) is pleased to announce a new reciprocal borrowing agreement with the Raritan Public Library, effective June 2, 2025. This expansion of library services means that all SCLSNJ cardholders can now borrow materials directly from the Raritan Public Library, in addition to all other independent municipal libraries within Somerset County:
● Bernards Township Library
● Bernardsville Public Library
● Clarence Dillon Public Library
● Franklin Township Public Library
This new agreement builds upon existing reciprocal borrowing partnerships SCLSNJ has worked to establish over the years,
making it easier than ever for residents to access a wider array of resources across the county.
"This reciprocal borrowing expansion with Raritan Public Library truly transforms how our community accesses information and
resources," said Brian Auger, SCLSNJ Library Director. "By working collaboratively with our independent municipal library partners, we are breaking down barriers and ensuring that every resident with a library card in Somerset County has enhanced access to the diverse collections and invaluable services offered by all public libraries. It's a testament to our shared commitment to serving the evolving needs of our patrons."
