Bridgewater Township Death Investigation at Crawford Court

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman, Jr. and Bridgewater Township Chief of Police John Mitzak announced an unattended death investigation into a deceased person found in a residence on Crawford Court on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in the Township of Bridgewater.

Prosecutor McDonald stated that on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 1:07 p.m., Bridgewater Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Crawford Court in response to a 911 call for a welfare check. Upon gaining entry to the residence, officers located an individual in advanced stages of decomposition. This individual was pronounced deceased. Detectives from the Bridgewater Police Department along with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene to investigate. Investigators from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene to investigate. No threats to the public have been identified from this investigation.

The unattended death remains under investigation by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bridgewater Police Department pending a positive identification, autopsy report and toxicology report from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
