Neuroinclusive Apartment Building THRIVE Red Bank™ to Break Ground July 30
Red Bank, NJ - THRIVE Red Bank Partners, board members from Parents With A Plan™, representatives from the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services, public officials, community members, and neurodivergent advocates will gather at 11 a.m. on July 30 for the groundbreaking of THRIVE Red Bank™. This first-of-its-kind Neuroinclusive Apartment Building will open in 2027 in Red Bank, N.J.
The three-story, 34,000-square-foot residential building will provide 32 one-bedroom apartments for independent living, with the first floor dedicated to amenities such as a shared community engagement space, a teaching kitchen, health & wellness space, a sensory space, and more.
THRIVE Red Bank will also debut an innovative public/private partnership with the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services (RCAAS) that will create a new standard of excellence in neuroinclusive housing. Residents will benefit from the expertise of Rutgers senior clinical faculty and highly trained clinical staff; meanwhile, university students from a variety of academic disciplines will receive hands-on training and intensive supervision.

- John Klein, Managing Partner of THRIVE Red Bank and a respected New Jersey community leader with decades of executive experience in real estate development
- Karen Fluharty, Parents With A Plan Founder and General Partner of THRIVE Red Bank, the single mother of her neurodivergent, 23-year-old son RyanRobin Klein, Founding Board Member, Parents With A Plan & General Partner of THRIVE Red Bank
- Christopher Manente, PhD., BCBA, Founding Executive Director of RCAAS
- Red Bank Mayor Billy Portman
- N.J. State Senator Vin Gopal

About THRIVE Red Bank™
THRIVE Red Bank™ is a first-of-its-kind Neuroinclusive Apartment Building that will offer one-bedroom apartments for neurodivergent adults and provide them with specific amenities and training for independent living. The first floor will be dedicated to amenities such as a shared community engagement space, a teaching kitchen, health & wellness space, a sensory space, and more. The project is a collaboration with Parents With A Plan, a 501c(3) which will operate the amenities.

This marks the first partnership in the United States with a major university and neuroinclusive housing partner.
THRIVE Red Bank is intended to be a model for future developments in New Jersey and beyond to offer a range of housing choices for a growing, but greatly underserved population.

We are a 501(c) (3) organization comprised of families, legal and housing professionals developing private, best practices solutions for neurodivergent young adults. We will do this by creating a place to call “home.” We believe each individual deserves a high quality of life and there is a growing need for developing neuroinclusive, consumer-controlled housing that fosters person-centered living and working environments. About the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services (RCAAS)
The RCAAS is a center of the Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Since its creation in 2016, the RCAAS has provided life-changing services and support to over 200 adults on the autism spectrum to ensure that they have the opportunity to lead independent and fulfilling lives as members of their community. Simultaneously, the RCAAS has advanced innovative research and prepared hundreds of students to enter careers in support of this vulnerable population. Leveraging Rutgers’ vast resources, RCAAS offers a unique mixture of supportive programs within an inclusive university setting that enhances quality of life and increases success.
