Arrest of Brett Ajamian, age 29, of Belle Mead, New Jersey for possession of child sexual abuse materials

MONTGOMERY TWP., N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Montgomery Township Chief of Police Silvio Bet announced the arrest of Brett Ajamian, age 29, of Belle Mead, New Jersey for possession of child sexual abuse materials in the Township of Montgomery.

Prosecutor McDonald stated during the month of January 2026, the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force notified the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office of multiple Cyber Tipline Reports provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning the possession of files depicting the sexual abuse and/or exploitation of a minor via an online cloud storage account.

Upon receiving these Cyber Tipline Reports, an investigation was initiated by detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit. The investigation led to the identification of Brett Ajamian as being associated with this online cloud storage account.

Prosecutor McDonald stated on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, along with members of the Montgomery Township Police Department, executed a Superior Court search warrant at Brett Ajamian’s residence in Belle Mead. As a result of the search warrant, electronic devices were seized from the residence for further forensic analysis.

On the same date, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit and members of the Branchburg Police Department took Brett Ajamian into custody in Branchburg, New Jersey without incident. Defendant Ajamian was transported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for processing on charges of 3rd degree, Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials. Defendant Ajamian was lodged at the Somerset County Jail and was later released from custody after making an appearance in Superior Court.

NOTE: The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
