RideWise announces Somerset County 2025 Safe Routes to School Program Winners
Somerville, New Jersey—RideWise is proud to announce that several Manville, Bridgewater, and Basking Ridge schools including Alexander Batcho Intermediate School, Weston Elementary School, Roosevelt School, First Step Oak Street School, First Step Manville High School, Bridgewater Raritan High School, Hamilton Primary School Safe Routes to School 2025 Gold and Bronze Award Recognition winners. RideWise successfully helped these schools achieve gold and bronze level recognition in the Safe Routes to Schools 2025 Recognition Program. Also known as SRTS, Safe Routes to School is a nationwide program supported by the New Jersey Department of Transportation and funded by the Federal Highway Administration educating schools and students on walking and biking safety.
In Somerset County, RideWise expands upon SRTS initiative with their own local community SRTS sub-programs including Walk and Bike to School Days, Walking School Buses, Bike Trains, Safety Town Courses, Walkability and Bikeability Audits, and Mapping and Traffic Studies.
NJDOT Commissioner Fran O’Connor shared, “Anything we can do to provide safe access for children going to and from school, we will do.” Similarly, RideWise’s Executive Director shared
