Governor Murphy Orders Flags to Fly at Half-Staff to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary
TRENTON – Governor Murphy today ordered that U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all State buildings and facilities on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 innocent people who were killed in the 2001 terrorist attacks, of whom almost 700 were New Jersey residents.
“On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we mourn the precious lives we lost that fateful day while reflecting on the patriotism and compassion that define us as Americans,” said Governor Murphy. “We are also forever grateful to our first responders, law enforcement officers, armed forces, and intelligence officers for the extraordinary sacrifices they make to protect our country each and every day.”
