For many, especially those who aren’t drawn to a traditional college path or are looking for meaningful, reliable work, trade careers offer an incredible opportunity to build a future and a stable, financially lucrative career. New Jersey’s growing film and television production scene may help bridge the gap.
Reel Works, in partnership with I.A.T.S.E. Local 52, is launching an intensive winter training program to prepare local residents for careers as Shop Craftpersons—the skilled carpenters who build, install, and remove all wooden structures on a film or television set.
It’s hands-on work, creative work, and essential work.
An information session will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 5:00 PM, including a live Q&A, with support from Netflix.
This program is especially well-suited for individuals who:
Have experience with hand or power tools
Are 18 or older
Are New Jersey residents living within a 70-mile radius of Fort Monmouth
There’s no fee to participate, and trainees will even receive a stipend during the training period—making it accessible for those eager to work their way into the entertainment industry.
