Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County - Winter Sowing Workshop

Bridgewater, New Jersey – Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County, Somerset County Dept. of Agriculture & Natural Resources, and the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Somerset County invite you to a Native Plant Winter Sowing Workshop on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026, at the Ted Blum 4-H Center – 310 Milltown Rd, Bridgewater, NJ. No prior knowledge is required, and gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.

This event will run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Registration is required to attend and the fee is $5. The registration link can be found at: https://ce-catalog.rutgers.edu/coursedisplay.cfm?schID=96579. Space for this event is limited, and those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

In this workshop, participants will learn about the importance of native plants and how easy it is to grow plants from seeds and incorporate them in the home landscape.

Participants will view a presentation on native plants and take part in a hands-on seed-sowing activity. Participants will make and take home milk jug mini-greenhouses and a variety of locally sourced seeds from our native seed library.
