Albany, NY — Trainee dancers from Roxey Ballet recently traveled to Albany to participate in the prestigious Regional Dance America (RDA) Northeast Festival, joining more than 17 pre‑professional companies from across the country for a three‑day celebration of dance, education, and artistic collaboration.
Hosted at the iconic performing arts venue The Egg, the festival brought together emerging dancers, acclaimed choreographers, and nationally recognized master teachers for an immersive schedule of classes, performances, and creative exchange. Audiences experienced a dynamic range of choreography—from innovative works by rising artists to pieces crafted by some of the most respected educators and dance professionals in the field.

For Roxey Ballet’s trainees, the festival offered a rare opportunity to step into the broader world of professional dance, learning alongside peers from across the United States while gaining exposure to the expectations, discipline, and creative energy that define the industry.
“Our trainees had an extraordinary experience learning, performing, and growing throughout the festival,” said Mark Roxey, Founding Director of Roxey Ballet. “Programs like Regional Dance America help young artists understand the importance of teamwork, professionalism, collaboration, and artistic exploration while giving them exposure to some of the finest educators and choreographers in the country.”
Now celebrating 30 years of artistic excellence, Roxey Ballet continues to serve as a leading pre‑professional and professional dance company in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Its mission centers on cultivating the next generation of artists through rigorous training, mentorship, performance opportunities, and meaningful community engagement.
The company’s year‑long Trainee Program allows dancers to train directly alongside professional company members and choreographers, gaining advanced technical instruction and real‑world production experience designed to prepare them for careers in the performing arts and beyond. Over the past three decades, many Roxey Ballet trainees have gone on to perform with world‑renowned dance companies, regional organizations, Broadway productions, universities, and arts institutions across the country.
In addition to its professional productions, Roxey Ballet is widely recognized for its educational outreach programs, residencies, workshops, and community initiatives that serve audiences throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond.
