Drive Sober This Independence Day - National Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
This Independence Day, local law enforcement across Somerset and Hunterdon Counties are joining the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign to keep our roads safe. July 4th remains one of the most dangerous holidays for impaired‑driving crashes, and officers will have an increased presence on the roads to prevent tragedies before they happen.
If you’re celebrating, make a plan before you head out: choose a sober driver, call a taxi, or use a rideshare. A safe ride home costs far less than a DUI — and it protects you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road. If you see someone attempting to drive impaired, take their keys and help them find another way home. And if you spot an impaired driver on the road, call 911. Your quick action could save a life.
This July 4th and every day: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
