Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Partners with Basilone Parade Committee to Provide Veterans Shuttle for the 2026 John Basilone Parade

The John Basilone Parade Committee has announced that the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office will once again partner with the parade to provide the Veterans Shuttle for the 2026 John Basilone Parade. This free service ensures that veterans and community members with mobility challenges can fully participate in every part of parade day.

The shuttle will operate throughout Raritan, connecting riders to key locations including:

• Raritan Train Station
• LabCorp parking lots
• John Basilone Museum / Raritan Public Library
• St. Ann’s Church for the annual Mass
• The full parade route
• The John Basilone Statue for the post‑parade ceremony

The Parade Committee emphasized its pride in continuing this accessibility initiative, stating:

“We are PROUD to serve our veterans and to uphold the values of being NJ’s first Purple Heart County.”

Somerset County’s designation as New Jersey’s first Purple Heart County reflects its longstanding commitment to honoring service members and supporting those wounded or killed in combat. The Veterans Shuttle is one of the ways the county ensures dignity, access, and community connection for those who have served.
