Visions and Pathways to Break Ground on Bridge House, Creating New Housing and Opportunity for Young Adults

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — September 9, 2026 — Visions and Pathways will celebrate a major milestone with the groundbreaking of Bridge House, a new 10-unit affordable housing development that will provide young adults transitioning from foster care and other challenging circumstances with a safe, stable home and the support needed to build independent futures.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. at 8 Third Avenue, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Community leaders, donors, partners and supporters will join Visions and Pathways to mark the beginning of construction on a development that will help address the critical need for housing stability among young adults in Somerset County.

Bridge House represents the culmination of years of planning, persistence and collaboration. The development will provide 10 affordable studio apartments while connecting residents with supportive services and resources designed to promote education, employment, life skills and long-term self-sufficiency.

“Bridge House represents hope, stability and a pathway forward for young adults who are working to build independent lives,” said David Walker, CEO/Executive Director of Visions and Pathways. “We are deeply grateful to our partners, supporters and community leaders who continue to believe in our mission and invest in the future of our young people.”

Bridge House is being advanced through the combined efforts of Visions and Pathways and a team of community and professional partners, including Patriot General Construction, Pennoni, Monarch Housing Associates, Buckman Architectural Group and Javerbaum, Wurgaft, Hicks, Kahn, Wikstrom, and Sinnis, P.C, among others.

Zonie LeSane, Chair of the Bridge House Capital Campaign, said the groundbreaking marks an important transition from years of planning and perseverance to tangible progress.

“Bridge House has been a vision for many years, and this groundbreaking represents the moment that vision begins to take physical form,” LeSane said. “So many people have remained committed to seeing this project move forward. This is a moment to celebrate how far we have come, while recognizing that our work continues. Together, we are creating a foundation from which young adults can build lives of stability, opportunity and independence.”

Continuing the Mission: Golf Outing to Support Bridge House

The momentum surrounding Bridge House will continue later this month when Visions and Pathways hosts its annual Golf Outing on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Basking Ridge Country Club.

The Golf Outing serves as an important fundraising initiative supporting Bridge House and provides individuals, businesses and community partners with an opportunity to participate directly in helping bring the project to completion.

This year, Pennoni and Javerbaum, Wurgaft, Hicks, Kahn, Wikstrom, and Sinnis, P.C will be recognized as the honorees for their support of Visions and Pathways and the Bridge House initiative. Marjorie Perry will serve as Master of Ceremonies, with former New York Giants wide receiver Stephen Baker and former heavyweight boxing champion Shannon Briggs participating as event champions.

Registration and breakfast begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start. Dinner and the Tricky Tray begin at 5:00 p.m.

Individual golfers may register for $350, foursomes for $1,400, and dinner-only guests for $150. The event includes 18 holes of golf, greens fees and carts, a cocktail hour and buffet meal.

Proceeds from the Golf Outing will help support Bridge House and Visions and Pathways' continuing work to provide young adults with housing, services and opportunities that foster stability and self-sufficiency.
