Starting Fresh in Somerset County: A Hassle‑Free Way to Recycle Moving Boxes

(For Immediate Release – Somerset County, NJ)Are you a new resident in Somerset County? 

The Somerset County Recycling Division is ready to help make your move a little easier with a simple solution for residents who have more cardboard than they can cut into the standard 2‑by‑2‑foot pieces for curbside pickup.

“As new residents settle in, services like this cardboard drop-off make it easier to join the County’s recycling efforts from day one,” said Commissioner Melonie Marano.

“From January 1 through July 31, 2026, Somerset County collected more than 15,000 tons of recycling. Every cardboard box recycled contributes to the strong environmental foundation our community continues to build, and I encourage new residents to take part in this County-wide initiative.”

Residents are welcome to bring their extra cardboard untied, directly to the Somerset County Recycling Center at 40 Polhemus Lane in Bridgewater, where staff will guide them through the free drop‑off process. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Upon arrival, visitors can stop by the dispatch office for directions on where to place their boxes.

This service provides new residents a stress‑free way to clear out their cardboard boxes and settle into their space while supporting Somerset County’s continued commitment to responsible recycling.
