SCVTHS Student of the Month for September 2026 – Sean Costello

BRIDGEWATER –Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS) is pleased to announce that Sean Costello, a senior in the Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (MEAM) program, has been selected as Student of the Month for September 2026. Sean is the son of Janet and Dennis Costello of Green Brook.

MEAM instructor Dan Dalfonzo recommended Sean for the honor, praising him for his academic excellence, but also for his work ethic and his job skills. He has also been impressed with the way Sean represents himself, his school, and his program as he pursues a career after SCVTHS. “This past summer Sean was able to secure a job at one of our corporate partners, Triad Tools, using the skills he learned in MEAM,” said Mr. Dalfonzo. “Great news - they want him back for the school year. Sean is a great example of a student hitting the ground running in the career of his choice.”

Sean has many interests outside the classroom. He is an active member of the Green Brook Township Volunteer Fire Department, and is working on completing his Fire 1 Certification. He is also a member of the Rotary, and an avid hockey player. He has earned academic high honor roll at SCVTHS for his achievements in the classroom, and was awarded the Green Brook Fire Service Award for his volunteer work in the community.

In his free time, Sean enjoys painting and hanging out with friends, but is always ready to answer the call if the fire department needs him.

Sean will be honored for his achievement at the Somerset County Vocational Board of Education Meeting on Monday, September 28th.
