Affinity Federal Credit Union celebrated its fifth annual Impact Day this past week at its Basking Ridge headquarters, where employees and volunteers came together for a large‑scale service effort focused on fighting food insecurity across New Jersey.

More than 370 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to prepare just under 4,900 sandwiches, all of which were distributed to 16 faith‑based organizations and food pantries serving communities throughout northern New Jersey. Among the recipients were two Somerset County partners — Feeding Hands of Hillsborough and Community Hope in Lyons, a VA‑affiliated organization supporting veterans and their families.

A quote from Affinity Federal Credit Union CEO and President Kevin Brauer:
"Affinity's mission has always been people helping people, and our team lives it year-round by giving their own time to the communities we serve. Impact Day is one more way they show up, and I'm proud every time I see our staff roll up their sleeves to support those in our communities who need a helping hand."

Affinity collaborated with Food to Table, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting food donors with organizations in need. Through this partnership, Impact Day directly supported residents most affected by food insecurity, ensuring that thousands of families received fresh, ready‑to‑eat meals.

The event reflects Affinity’s ongoing commitment to service, community partnership, and addressing hunger in meaningful, hands‑on ways.
