A business located on Davidson Ave. was the victim of a theft between 12/29/22 and 01/19/23. Two cell phones valued at $850.00 were delivered to the business and were stolen once inside the building. The suspect(s) is unknown.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a cryptocurrency scam. The unknown suspect convinced the victim via telephone to invest $312,000.00 into cryptocurrency. A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a wallet theft. The victim believed he left his wallet behind at a business located on Pierce St. during the morning hours. The wallet contained credit cards, an ID, and $300.00 cash. The unknown suspect(s) made multiple fraudulent charges with the victim’s credit cards. Additionally, $6,300.00 was charged to the victim’s bank account.

A business located on Franklin Blvd. was the victim of a theft during the morning hours. A black male suspect fled without paying for $66.00 worth of gas. It was determined that the involved vehicle was stolen from an outside jurisdiction a day earlier.

He threatened to share naked pictures of the victim if she did not provide money. “NOTE: The FTPD will never place phone calls requesting money for ANY reason.”

However, a Hispanic female who accompanied was able to flee the store with $543.00 worth of merchandise.
