Raritan Borough Police - June 2025 Press Release

The Raritan Borough Police Department announced the arrest of Daniel Gabino-Maldonado, 32, of Raritan, who was charged with Defiant Trespass, Obstruction, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Throwing Bodily Fluids at a Law Enforcement Officer.

On June 1, 2025, at 8:50 p.m., Raritan patrol officers were dispatched to a business on West Somerset Street for a trespassing complaint. Subsequently, officers encountered Maldonad,o who had been previously trespassed from the business. Maldonado refused to provide his information and was advised he was under arrest. As Maldonado was being taken into custody, he assaulted an officer and spit in the officer’s face. 

After a brief struggle Maldonado was taken into custody. An injured officer was later evaluated for his injury at a local medical facility. Maldonado was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing. It is unknown whether or not he is still lodged in jail.
