ICYMI - Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District - Transportation Presentation
On Tuesday, September 9, the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District analyzed proposed changes to bell schedules to optimize district-wide transportation services.
The goal is to redesign bus routes to accommodate full-day kindergarten and the shift of sixth grade to the middle school by optimizing our existing fleets and resources.
Two specific options for the 2026/27 schedules were presented by Mike Archer, the Director of Transportation Services for the Center of Effective School Operations, at the Board of Education meeting on that evening of September 9.
Option One resembles a schedule from several years ago, featuring a uniform schedule for all primary schools while providing more time between the first and second transportation tiers. Option Two involves a later school start time for the High School, with start times changing from 7:20 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Both options reinstate instructional time trimmed four years ago when the school district wrestled with a transportation crisis, stemming from losing one of our contractors one week before school started.
