Raritan Borough Police - March News
Raritan Borough Chief of Police Thomas Fisher announces the arrest of Ahmad Wallace, 21, of Raritan, New Jersey, in connection with an eluding incident that occurred on March 17, 2026
According to Chief Fisher, at approximately 9:20 p.m. on March 17, a Raritan patrol officer observed a 2011 Honda Accord fail to signal a turn in the area of the Stonebridge Apartment Complex on Route 202 North. The officer attempted to initiate a motor vehicle stop near Route 202 North and Thompson Street by activating the patrol vehicle's emergency lights.
The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, officers learned the vehicle had been involved in prior eluding incidents in New Providence and Watchung. It was also determined that Wallace had two outstanding warrants for second-degree eluding.
The pursuit continued through borough streets for approximately five minutes before the vehicle came to a stop on Del Rocco Court within the Stonebridge Apartment Complex.
Wallace exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. Wallace has been charged with second-degree eluding and was remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending a Superior Court detention hearing.
Note: These charges are merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
