Somerville History Roundtable Finishes Its Season
As the Somerville History Roundtable concludes its regular programs, we find ourselves at an important moment. The conversations, discoveries, and shared curiosity that defined the Roundtable don’t have to fade. In fact, they can evolve into something even more meaningful for our community.
Somerville’s history has always depended on the people who care enough to preserve it. That work continues every day through the Somerville Historic Advisory Committee (HAC)—a volunteer body committed to protecting the Borough’s historic resources, elevating local stories, and ensuring that preservation remains part of Somerville’s future, not just its past.
HAC meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Somerville Civic Center, and those meetings are open to the public. Former Roundtable members—many of whom have already shown their dedication to local history—are warmly invited to attend, listen, participate, or even consider becoming more involved. The door is open to anyone who wants to help shape the next chapter of preservation in Somerville.
For those who want to stay informed, HAC offers a monthly email list featuring meeting agendas, approved minutes, updates on local history initiatives, and occasional volunteer opportunities. Joining is simple: email Kelley Allen at kelleylallen@gmail.com and ask to be added.
HAC also shares updates and historical content on social media:
Facebook: facebook.com/SomervilleHAC
Instagram: @somervillehistoricadvisory
Questions, ideas, or topics for HAC’s consideration can be sent to somervillehac@gmail.com. Community input is not only welcome—it’s essential.
The Roundtable may have completed its run, but the work of preserving Somerville’s heritage continues. We hope you’ll stay connected, stay curious, and perhaps help write the next chapter in the story of our town.
