RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Raritan Township Police Department (“RTPD”) was fully accredited by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (“NJSACOP”) for its ongoing commitment to excellence, professionalism, and the highest standards of law enforcement practices during a Raritan Township Committee meeting, Sept. 2.

Designated as an “independent credentialing body” by the U.S. Department of Justice, NJSACOP’s Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, or LEAP, is a voluntary, statewide, and nationally certified law enforcement certification program designed to enhance professionalism and transparency in the state’s public safety system. To date, only 54% of police departments statewide have achieved accreditation status.
