Free Swim Lessons Available for Eligible Hillsborough Third‑Graders

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Health Department is partnering with the YMCA to offer free swim lessons for third‑grade students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.

This initiative is designed to help children:

• Build confidence in the water
• Learn essential water‑safety skills
• Experience the physical and emotional benefits of swimming

Families with children who have little to no swimming experience — or who would benefit from gaining more comfort in the pool — are encouraged to complete the interest form by May 1. All applications will remain confidential, and staff will review eligibility before following up with next steps.

Swim lessons are tentatively planned for the spring, with final dates to be confirmed.
