Manville School District STEAM Supervisor Dr. Christa Mawn Honored with Statewide “Emerging Professional Award”

MANVILLE, NJ – The Manville School District is proud to announce that Dr. Christa Mawn, District Supervisor of STEAM, has been named the recipient of the 2026 Emerging Professional Award by Learning Forward New Jersey (LFNJ). Dr. Mawn was formally recognized during the LFNJ Annual Day of Learning conference on March 25, 2026.

The Emerging Professional Award is a prestigious honor reserved for educational leaders who demonstrate exceptional promise, a commitment to the professional growth of their colleagues, and a clear impact on student achievement through innovative instructional leadership. Since joining the Manville School District, Dr. Mawn has been instrumental in refining the district’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum, ensuring that students are engaged in rigorous, future-ready learning environments.

Ms. Kelli Eppley, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and Dr. Mawn’s immediate supervisor, praised her colleague’s vision and work ethic.

“Dr. Mawn has an incredible ability to translate complex educational standards into actionable, exciting classroom experiences,” said Ms. Eppley. “Her leadership goes beyond just managing a department; she truly invests in the professional journey of every teacher she works with. This award is a testament to her dedication to our staff and, ultimately, to the success of our students here in Manville. We are so fortunate to have her on our leadership team.”

During the conference, Learning Forward NJ highlighted Dr. Mawn’s work in fostering collaborative learning communities. By emphasizing data-driven instruction and modernizing the district’s approach to technology integration, Dr. Mawn has helped position Manville as a leader in STEAM education within the region.
